Good review. I thought my scrapyard son of dogfather was thick!!! They are pretty much considered the toughest, ugly knives available. I've used.

scrapyard dogfather review

The maintenance guy for our course is really good about knowing where to and not to mow as well as doing little things here and there that we ask for with planting trees and mowing different fairways to be harder or easier depending on what were looking for. It really comes down to I threw a gold disc and it just vanished. I agree with not hacking to much of the course, its there for a reason, gives the course integrity. Watch your discs well too. I have walked my course with a machete. Talk to the parks department. If you are playing alone just be sure to keep a very close eye on where your disc ended up. How do you guys deal searching in the really high thick grass? As soon as you throw it, get after it! Attach some fishing line to the disc before it's thrown. Before I step off the tee or previous lie , I identify some visible object tee sign, tree, bush, etc directly behind me which is in line with both the disc landing point and the visible object past the disc. I kept an eye on my throw, buddy was in another section of grass looking for his disc. It's really thick and extremely tough steel. They have a maintenance staff for a reason :. Another thing you can do is not look away when shank a drive. We flattened most of the grass searching through it but still couldn't find it. But once you start searching, the disc landing point is no longer identifiable, so it is easy to get yourself off that line and waste your time. If nothing else one of you go down to spot. Why bother actually "having" to search.{/INSERTKEYS}{/PARAGRAPH} Tim S. Also, if it goes in, chase after it right away. Yes this is great advice. I am so closes to bringing a sickle with me for if I shank one in the high grass again, but I don't want to be carrying all that extra gear. I look at an object past where my disc landed an walk in a straight line to it. Would have helped if I could of hacked away at it. I put a very thin, razor sharp literally, it's as sharp as a razor, I'm not just saying that convex edge on it and it slices through anything, whether it's a thick branch or some tall grass. That's one thing that I struggle with and it's usually the reason I lose one. So in the past two days I've lost 2 discs due to tall think grass. Would walking around a course with a machete draw too much unwanted attention? If I could redo that hole I would change a few things so I could find it. When I get to the spot I'm searching, I can look at both visible objects past the lie and behind the previous lie to see whether or not I'm still looking on the correct line. Spot each other. The few people that saw me using it thought it was a great idea. Up to that round I had only lost two discs total. If its really thick, just have a spotter walk ahead before u throw. I just avoid a few local courses until they do their annual large mowing or rototilling job because every throw you're searching in 4 foot grass, even in the middle of the "fairways" which we don't really have much of due to the hilly terrain. {PARAGRAPH}{INSERTKEYS}View Full Version : Dealing with the thick stuff. Ah, you haven't learned the most important thing. Try this! So you really need two visible objects to define that straight line and focus your search. So the more you cut away the easier it is next time Over the winter we had some bad storms that took a toll on some trees and a lot of under growth of our local course, its a completely different course now. I feel your pain Aupps I lost two in the weeds last week at brandywine. I'd rather not have to avoid certain courses during the summer because they are disc eaters. I've started bringing a pair of lopping sheers with me to search through the thick vines and thorns, I have it clipped to my bag. Don't know how many courses you regularly play, but you can always take a weed whacker to your favorite courses with permission, of course for 2 or 3 hours once every couple of months.
